The launch of NCFC’s Young Cooperators Conference is taking place during the Washington Conference this June. The future of American agriculture and cooperatives lies in the hands of the next generation of farmers and ranchers, and it is ever more important that these young producers gain advocacy experience here in our nation’s capital.

Young cooperators will have the opportunity to participate in all the events offered at the Washington Conference as well as a two-hour seminar exclusively for young producers. The seminar will feature a speaker from Washington’s media sector to discuss the changing makeup of America’s voters and how lawmakers will be influenced in this new age of social media. We will also invite a panel of young cooperators who have taken on initiatives to tell the co-op story in their own communities to share their experiences. Finally, before heading off to hill meetings, there will be a Lobbying 101 educational session on how to effectively communicate with members of congress in Washington.

We hope you will consider bringing outstanding young cooperative leaders to take part in the launch of this exciting new initiative at NCFC’s Washington Conference, June 9-11. The Young Cooperators Conference will be held the morning of Tuesday, June 10th and a reduced rate will be offered to participants of the Young Cooperators Conference. Registration will be open on April 15th on NCFC’s Website (  A more detailed schedule of events will be circulated in the next few weeks.
